When I was 7 years old I was taken to hospital with terrible stomach aches. No one knew what was going on and I was very very sore.
I stayed in hospital for a looooong time. I had many, many needles and tubes put everywhere.
Sometimes it was really sore and painful. I only cried once. The doctors told me I have Crohn’s disease, which made my tummy sore.
I tried many medicines to make me feel better – none worked.
I missed three months of school. And I lost 30 pounds.
Then the doctors put me on infusions every two months. They give me a very expensive drug through this infusion, and it is done at
the hospital. I stay there for a whole day.
My family has insurance that pays for it. The people at the hospital tell me I am doing very well.
The drugs cost more than $20 000 every year.
If I did not have this, I still may be sick.
I decided to start a charity called Aarons Apple.
It will help families that cannot afford expensive drugs.
I will sell T shirts and ask for donations at my supermarket, and have side walk sales.
My dad will help me go to big companies to get money.
